The list, in order of priority
| Item | Why | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Reformers | The core of the studio | One per client in your largest class. Order about three months ahead if built to order. |
| Sitting boxes and jumpboards | Many repertoire exercises | Included with each of our machines. |
| Mats | Warm-ups, mat classes | One per place, plus spares. |
| Small props | Variety: rings, balls, bands, light weights | Store them in labelled boxes. |
| Mirrors | Clients check their form | Usually on the wall the machines face. |
| Lighting | Calm, even light | Avoid lights that dazzle clients lying on their backs. |
| Sound system | Music and the instructor's voice | Playing recorded music needs a licence (TheMusicLicence, PPL PRS). |
| Storage | Props, mats and folded machines | Plan wall space if your reformers fold. |
| Booking system | Classes, payments, memberships | Choose it before your pre-sale opens. |
| Cleaning supplies | Upholstery wiped after every class | Check the upholstery care instructions. |
What comes with each of our reformers
Sitting box, jumpboard, foot bar, six springs, two shoulder rests, two ropes and handles, two double-loop straps, a foot strap and two risers. The machine itself is described on our studio reformer page, with prices for 4 to 12 machines.
Before buying anything: the room
The room decides how many reformers you can use. Allow about 5 to 7 m² per machine, spacing included; the full table is in our studio layout guide. Our guide to opening a reformer studio puts every purchase on a timeline.
